I want to apologize to whoever owns the 'point of land' next to Run with Soup. Charlene is SO generous when it comes to donating, volunteering and being a helpful part of our community...I put our Strawberry Shortcake fundraiser sign on that point between Run with soup and the traffic light. I did not know it was owned by someone else. There was a large sign on it...I didn't think there would be an issue with a fundraising sign for the food bank there as well. I put up our signs one week before the event...and I take them down personally immediately after the event. It was thrown in the street when we came to pick it up and we were told 'this is private property'. NEXT YEAR...we know better and Charlene has offered her 'plant pots' to set a sign in. GREAT visibility! Again..please accept my sincere apologies...My name is Kimberly Gates, I am the director. Feel free to reach out. ... See MoreSee Less

You should not need to apologize shame on them, you do great things for this community and Bath is so lucky to have you and everything you do does not go unnoticed, you are a huge HUGE part of this community and all the resources you provide, the owner of that point should be ashamed of themselves. But I am happy my mom was able to offer a safe place for your signs! As you know she has a heart of gold and you don’t even have to ask when it comes to fundraising/donating or doing anything that helps the community. Thank you for everything you do! And I’m so sorry this happened.
Is that the new business?
What a Scrooge! They couldn’t call and ask for the sign to be removed like a decent human being? Good grief, I hope they get the help they need.
May the owners never know hunger, great job you do👍
Rotten community spirit right there. Thank you for all you do.
This is indeed disturbing I'm sorry this happened!
If that is owned by a business… we as a community should make em famous. What a rotten cold hearted entitled thing to do. Is it a local sleaze bag or an out of town crybaby dirtbag?
Since when have people become so high and mighty they throw a temper tantrum like a child over a sign and a piece of grass that amounts to a hill of beans. Try alittle kindness people.the world needs all it can get right now!!
I hope they see this and are truly embarrassed. Who doesn’t support feeding hungry neighbors and friends/family?!
So sorry Kim! You work tirelessly to help our community & did not deserve this!
It is such a super cause and at a time like this so needed. We need to all bend a little to make our community a please where people can seek help if and when they need it.
I just don’t get it. What is the harm of placing a sign for an event for a nonprofit? Some people. SMH
It seems like such a silly thing to get upset over. You work so hard for BAFB and the community.
Property information is public info that can be accessed through the Bath city Hall. Just putting it out there. 😁
Life is full of lessons learned. Doesn't mean that one is not allowed to make mistakes along the way. Just regroup and move on for the next lesson! ❤️
But also.. maybe local business owners could be a little more compassionate? Your sign wasn’t hurting anyone and you were clearly responsible for the removal. I’m sorry Kim! Some people just suck 😣
Wow... must be hard being so miserable over a temporary sign about the food bank. **ps.. I really hope they are reading this and are embarrassed by their act of non kindness **
Such a great community event, there is currently so much animosity in the world - think we all need to practice kindness and inclusion
The Bath Area Food Bank does a great job, seems like the property owner could of handled this a little better.
I really, really, REALLY love this. I make so many mistakes that upset people. I’d like to think that the vast majority of the times I hurt people there was no intention to cause harm. Or maybe even that the harm was almost entirely based on issues out of my control. Regardless, it happens. We all make mistakes and inadvertently hurt others. I am so fully behind the idea of taking responsibility and apologizing. This takes strength and humility. It takes accountability for the impact no matter the intent. It doesn’t really matter who the owners are or why they didn’t want the fundraiser sign there. What matters is that you spoke up to make amends with a commitment to changing. This is the leadership and example that makes our town, country, and world a better place. Thank you, Kimberly F. Gates. You are a true pillar of this community. I am so grateful for you.
That was mean of them.
Thank you for your service to the community!
Who owns the property? I would love to talk to them.
I know a business that would probably be more than willing to allow a sign. You know the man to ask. 🤗
I found it, it is an LLC I have never heard of. I will send it to you Kimberly F. Gates

Thank you for doing this, but please have direction signs for the tables. With people coming in both ways there was no room to move once you got to the middle of a table.
